NSS was initiated in the year 1969 by the Central Government on the occasion of the 100th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. This blog provides information about various activities of NSS Unit of School Of Excellence in Law, The Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai.
The motto of the National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) is "Not Me, But You", This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless services and appreciation of another man's point of view and also show consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole. It inculcates the social welfare thoughts in the students, and to provide service to the society without any prejudice.
Our volunteers have been actively involved in camps involving
- Cleaning
- Afforestation
- Stage shows creating awareness on social problems, education, cleanliness etc
- Inviting doctors for health camps.
As Students of Law, in addition to these regular camps, we have an unique responsibility in creating LEGAL AWARENESS among the public. Our unit has been very much active in this field since its inception. we have been conducting various LEGAL AID camps in rural areas regularly.
